Come Rain, Come Shine, We Will Never Desert Chibok Girls – BBOG Group

The #BringBackOurGirls Group has again stated that its members will continue to stand by the schoolgirls abducted more than one hundred days ago from Government Secondary School, Chibok in Borno State.
The group, which got drenched by the rain yesterday at its 99th daily sit-out session, stated that neither the heavy downpour nor the scorching sunshine could stop its members from clamouring for the rescue of the girls.
The group has planned a Sealed Lips Day demonstration for today, to mark Day 100 of its advocacy for the safe return of the Chibok girls. It is to be followed by a press briefing in Abuja.
For 100 days now, the group has focused on keeping alive awareness of the abduction, to drive home that it is a priority issue requiring the right set of actions for a positive outcome.
The group has, during these days, engaged various stakeholders – the Presidency, the National Assembly, the office of the national security adviser, the chief of defense staff, the Borno State government and other state governments, ECOWAS member countries and UN agencies – all in the bid to facilitate the quick return of the abducted girls.
The BBOG Group continues to insist, against several accusations of its being politically motivated, that it is a group of citizens resolved to stand with the abducted girls and ensure they are not forgotten and are returned to their families safe and alive.
