39 vessels to berth at Lagos ports

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) says 39 ocean going vessels laden with various goods are expected between September 29 and October 28, at the Lagos ports.
The NPA’s projection was released after the daily berthing meeting earlier in the week.
According to NPA, 21 of the vessels are carrying containers, while 10 others are laden with various food items. A further breakdown showed that the food items include rice, frozen fish, buckwheat and crude palm oil. It said that other seven vessels are carrying general cargoes, while one vessel will sail into the port with diesel.
The authority said also that the vessels would sail into Atlas Cove Jetty, the New Oil Jetty, Petroleum Wharf, Bulk Oil Plant and Single Buoy Mooring, among others.
Meanwhile, six vessels carrying petroleum products, including aviation fuel are waiting to berth at the port. It also said that five other vessels carrying rice and frozen fish were queuing to berth.
