Ekiti State account almost empty -Fayose

Governor-elect of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, has cried out that the state government’s account is near empty, just as he complained that the outgoing government has refused to cooperate with his team to ensure a proper handover. Fayose told newsmen yesterday that he would likely inherit the treasury in a very poor state when he assumes office today.
His words: “Well, as I said, I don’t want to join issues with anybody. I only believe that a chapter has come and gone and then a new chapter will open tomorrow (today). The outgoing government has refused to cooperate with us in terms of inauguration and my findings have confirmed thatthere is no government account with up to N1million. The head of service has been here and some permanent secretaries and I asked them. No government account presently in Ekiti has minimum of one million. It’s unfortunate that this is happening, but we are voted to find solutions to the problems and as soon as we take over the government, we shall find solution to it.”
On whether he would probe Fayemi’s government, he said: “ I won’t talk about it now until we take over the government officially.”
