How to uproot menace of Boko Haram –Alaafin

How to uproot menace of Boko Haram –Alaafin

The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi 111 has called for urgent  need for the enhancement of intelligence, logistics, holistic and political intervention, to uproot the menace of Boko Haram  that has become an international embarrassment.

The paramount ruler stated this in his condolence letter to President Goodluck Jonathan on the  recent bomb blast in Nyanya, Abuja.

Oba Adeyemi said  with the influx of mercenary fighters, grenades and rocket launchers, the Boko-Haram’s senseless and unreasonable warfare has taken an international dimension and the time was ripe for  the President to seek for support and cooperation of the international communities, most especially the neighbouring countries of Cameroon, Niger Republic and Chad Republic.

Describing the bomb  blast as not only tragic but also a national calamity which deserves condemnation of every right thinking Nigerian,  Alaafin noted that the Boko-Haram menace has become a national disaster and embarrassment, to the well-being and security of  the country.

The letter read in parts: “ Your Excellency, the religion of Islam, of which I am a strong adherent, is a religion of Peace, which forbids and  abhors the killing of any human soul, in other words, the Boko-Haram warfare is not fighting the cause of Islam but rather a political tool in the hands of those that do not wish you and your government very well and therefore, the urgent need for enhancement of intelligence, logistics, holistic and political intervention, to uproot this menace that has become an International embarrassment.’’
