FG shuts down Kaduna Airport

FG shuts down Kaduna Airport
The Federal Government has ordered the closure of the  Kaduna Airport, following a fire incident which razed the tower that completely destroyed air traffic control facilities. Daily Sun learnt that the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), had already issued NOTAM (Notice To Air Men) to that effect, informing the operating  airlines locally and across the globe of this development.
The shut down notice is however, temporary pending the rectification of the problems
or facilities affected by the incident. In the interim, The managing director of NAMA, Ibrahim Abdulsalam, has directed the immediate deployment of the agency’s  mobile tower currently in Abuja to Kaduna Airport to resume normal services by today.
“There is no cause for alarm as we are on top of the situation. Our mobile tower is capable
of handling normal traffic as it is well equipped with necessary ATC console  to do that,” said NAMA’s managing director.
