Nigeria fighting worst type of war –Jang

Nigeria fighting worst type of war –Jang

Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State has said the nation is at war and is even in the worst type of war because it does not know the enemies it is fighting, and warned politicians not to play politics with the emergency situation on ground.
Speaking for the first time after the bomb blasts in the state capital, shortly after he arrived the country from abroad where he went on medical check-up,  Governor Jang lambasted those trying to play politics with the situation  the country has found itself.
He was speaking to journalists at the bombsite shortly after he inspected the damage done.
Commenting on the blasts, he said it is an unfortunate situation because we have always believed that Jos has overcome this sort of situation and commensurated with all families that lost their loved ones in the bomb explosion.
Officially, he said he has learnt that those that lost their lives are about 78 but this may go higher as the day go by when people speak up if they have not seen their family members that might had gone close to the area that was bombed.
He reiterated that the state government would foot all the bills of all those injured irrespective of which hospital they were being treated.
In the same vein, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, has reiterated his unflagging confidence in the country’s armed forces, saying that the fact that they cannot summarily bring to an end the Boko Haram insurgency does not mean they were overwhelmed.
Badeh stated this in Jos when he visited the scene of Tuesday’s twin blast that killed many and destroyed unestimated amount of property. The blasts took place along the busy Murtala Mohammed Way near the Terminus Market.
The CDS, who spoke to journalists at the scene of the incident on why the insurgency is spreading to other places from its original target of North Eastern part of the country, said the insurgents are moving away from the North East because of the pressure the military is mounting on them.
“So, the North East is no longer a safe place for them to operate and they are moving to other softer targets. That is what is happening and we will follow them,” he stated, adding that the Boko Haram insurgents are very cowardly because they are going after softer targets.
According to him, “ You come to market to kill people who live day by day; the poorest of the poor in the society, you come and kill them. What they are trying to do is just to intimidate us. But you know that terror will not deter us from being Nigerians. We will continue to do what we are doing. We will continue to live our lives. Terror will not succeed. We will eventually come over it.”
“Nigerians should be patient and everybody must contribute by giving information, no matter how little. Find somebody and give him information. Call emergency number 112 on your GSM even if you don’t have credit. Report it. Somebody will take action,” the defence chief stressed.
