Daily Sunsports gathered that two close allies of the ousted NFF president would next week be shown the exit door, when the NFF congress meets to ratify Maigari’s impeachment.
A competent NFF source disclosed yesterday that the impeachment war is not over yet as Maigari’s loyalists had been penciled down to go with him.
“Maigari ran NFF with a cabal and we are going to flush out that cabal from the executive board,” our source stated.
The board had in a communiqué issued after its yesterday exco meeting, stated that the Ba uchi soccer administrator was sacked for financial misappropriation amongst other reasons.
The communiqué read in part: “After thorough and exhaustive deliberations on the uncalled-for secrecy surrounding all financial dealings of the soccer federation and failure to call meeting of the Executive Committee for the past eight months, during which so many weighty decisions on Nigeria football had been taken by a small cabal within the Board, the Executive Committee passed a vote of no confidence on the NFF President, Alhaji Aminu Maigari. In view of the above, the Committee approved the immediate dismissal of Alhaji Aminu Maigari, from the NFF Executive Committee on grounds of financial misappropriation, misapplication and maladministration.”
The NFF board which now has Chief Mike Okeke Umeh as acting president commended President Goodluck Jonathan for his massive support for football.
“The Committee expresses deep and very sincere appreciation to President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR as a person, and the Federal Government as a body, for the massive support to the Nigeria Football Federation and the National Teams.”
