When police nabbed him for alleged serial raping of the girls who are between six and eight years, his defence was that he loves having sex with minors because they are HIV/AIDS free.

Parents of the children who are always out in the daytime for business only got to know what had been happening to them after they found their son in possession of a mobile telephone containing pornographic videos. That was after the incident had been on for about a year.
The boy revealed to his parents that the handset belonged to one Awilo, a man that lives in the neighbourhood that often recharges his phone in their home.
Not too satisfied with the content of the handset and the fact that their little boy had been glued to the pornographic clips, the parents probed further to find out that the same man under the pretext of recharging his phone had serially defiled their under-aged children. This prompted them to call in the police.
The suspect, Awo Yakubu, (aka Awillo) who is now in police custody, says he enjoyed every moment he had sex with the minors and that he prefers sleeping with minors so as not to contract HIV/AIDS.
Sordid tale
Yakubu who hails from Bauchi State narrated to Abuja Metro how he has been defiling the children of Mr. and Mrs Odogwu for about one year and that he started with their son, Chidera, whom he introduced to smoking Indian hemp.
He said he got to know Chidera’s younger sisters, Chiamaka, 7, and Chioma, 6, later, and according to his story, fell in love with them. To Awilo, the feeling was so strong that he started romancing her, later used his fingers in her private part and finally had sex with her.
He said he started having sex with the older of the little girls somewhere at the back of their house where they store woods.
Going too far
Later, Awilo, the bizarre man, changed the venue of the ugly act to the parents’ bedroom when he started feeling uncomfortable outside to avoid being caught.
Besides, he said that he chose to have sex with the girls on their parents’ bed when he discovered that the children’s bed reeked of urine which he could not stand.
Awilo, who said he has been in Abuja for over 10 years had worked at the Karu abattoir for about seven years, and he earns between N600 and N300 daily.
The Divisional Police Officer in charge of the Karu Police Station, CSP Ayobami Surajudeen, told Abuja Metro his men picked up the suspect when the matter was reported by the parents of the children. He promised that the suspect, will soon appear in court.
The DPO described the incident as very sad, and said the suspect took advantage of the parents’ absence from home to play out his odd act on the innocent children.
He said the commissioner of police in charge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Joseph Mbu, would not take the matter lightly.
He said already, the police have taken the two little girls to hospital for medical check, which revealed that they had been abused as doctors found fresh sperm on them during the test.
Surajudeen revealed also that the suspect has been known for defiling minors and had been arrested earlier after he was caught raping a minor by some residents that gave him the beating of his life before handing him over to the police.
The suspect, who looked very dirty, confessed to Abuja Metro, that he has been in the act of defiling and abusing three of the four children of the Odogwus for over one year.

Awilo narrated how he got to know the children, and confessed that it started after he gave them his handset to recharge. He said since their parents were always locking them in at home, he used to talk to them from the window.
“I got to know these children because each time I walked past their home, they talked to me through the window. Oºne day I gave them my handset and begged them to help me recharge the battery. But after sometime, their parents stopped locking them in so I started seeing them outside and I became friends with Chidera, and each time I smoke, he will be looking at me and so I started giving him cigarette to smoke and later gave him Indian hemp and he liked it and started smoking and now he can smoke very well and we became closer to the extent that I will give him my hand set to go to school with and get it back from him when he returns.
Over time, Chidera commenced visiting my place with his sisters and I started liking the big one, Chiamaka, and from there we started romancing. I will hold her like this (demonstrating how he used to hold the eight-year-old), and she will also hold me and then I started romancing and fingering her and later I used my penis. We really enjoyed it.
“It was sweet and I like her and she liked me too to the extent that each time they close from school, they will first come to my place but I will tell them to go and change their uniform so that people will not suspect us.
“I used to sleep with her at the back of the house before Chidera said I should be doing it inside their house so he took me to their room, but when we got there the mattress was smelling of urine, so Chidera said I should use their mama and papa bed and that was how we relocated.”
“The children’s parents are always not at home. Their father is a businessman and their mother a petty trader that works mainly in the evening, anytime from 6.00pm. After she leaves home, I usually go there during these hours when they are not at home to play with their children.
“Each time I want to start doing it, I will give Chidera my phone to keep him busy with the blue film and watch me and his sister do it. And as time went on, I told him I wanted to sleep with his second sister, Chioma. He agreed, and I also commenced doing the same with her.
“I usually started with Chiamaka and when I finish, I will ask him to call Chioma and I will also have sex with her and when I am through, I leave my phone with Chidera to take to school.”

The man whose story of the sordid act sounds debasing boasted that even after the entire act, he was never caught. “No, they didn’t catch me; it was my phone they caught because they saw it with Chidera when he was watching blue film and asked him who the owner is.
“When I went to pick the phone as usual, I met the parents who asked me if I was the owner, and I said yes. They said they found their son watching blue movie on it and asked me to come back for it, so I went away. Later, they sent for me to take the handset and when I got there they said their children had told them what I had been doing with them and people gathered and started beating me. I nearly died from the beating until they handed me to soldiers on security duty that took me to the police.
The man that speaks like the real depraved was shameless to declare that she likes having sex with little children. “These small girls do not have HIV and they are very fresh. But most of the women you find at the abattoir have HIV; you understand me. You know that most of the big girls have HIV, so I don’t want to contract HIV.”

Mrs. Odogwu, said: “I discovered what has been going wrong after I caught my son watching blue film from a mobile phone that does not belong to me or the father and I asked him how he came about it and he said it was owned by Awilo. I kept quiet and waited because I knew he must come for it, which he did. But unfortunately for him, he came for it when I was at home.
He kicked on the door. I went to open it and asked him what he wanted and he said he was there to pick his phone that he gave my children to recharge.
So I inquired if he was the one that gave my little son the phone because of the kind of video I saw him watching
I directed him to go to the police and get his phone back because of my discovery in it. I refused to listen to his pleas to spare him.
At this moment, I had not heard or known of the terrible story of his sexual assault of my little girls. It was after confronting him that I told my children I would take all of them to the police alongside Awilo unless they told me everything they knew about him and his phone.
They opened up and narrated to me everything which I also confirmed from Awilo.
I never knew him earlier. The first time I knew him or anything about him is just a week ago. Surprisingly, my children admitted that he had been messing with them for a very long time. They admitted they cannot count the number of times he has been sleeping with them because they have been too many; and Awilo himself also confirmed that.
