Violence in Ekiti: 10 assassinated under Fayemi, alleges PDP

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State has faulted the claims by a group in the state, the E-11 that the first term of the Governor-elect, Ayo Fayose, recorded more violence than the tenure of the outgoing Governor, Kayode Fayemi.
The party, which spoke in Ado-Ekiti through its state Publicity Secretary, Pastor Kola Oluwawole, yesterday, also alleged that there were more political killings during Fayemi’s tenure than when Fayose governed the state.
“We want the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its apologists to contradict these facts that in the last four years of the Fayemi administration, no fewer than 10 persons have been killed across the state,” the PDP stated
Reeling out the figures, the PDP in the statement said: “Mr. Adeleye Awolumate killed on 18 November 18, 2010; Mr. Kehinde Fajuyi, killed on March 23, 2011; Mr. Michael Ipinlaye, killed on February 23, 2011; Mr. Teslim Abiola, a student of EKSU killed on September 26, 2012 by an aide of Fayemi, who the governor later made a council chairman.
“Mr. Ayo Murphy Jeje and Mrs Juliana Adewumi killed 31 March 31, 2013 in Erijiyan-Ekiti and the state Chairman of the APC, Chief Jide Awe and others are facing prosecution over the matter.
“Others are Mr. Foluso Ogundare killed on November 3, 2013 in Emure-Ekiti, an APC member of the House of Assembly and others are facing trial for this. Mr. Taiwo Akinola, killed on June 9, 2014 and Chief Omolafe Aderiye, who was killed on September 25, 2014.”
