The Jigawa State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested three Ad-hoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over missing 202 permanent voter cards during the just-concluded distribution exercise in the state.
The state Commandant of NSCDC, Dr. Muhammad Gidado while briefing newsmen yesterday, disclosed this in Dutse, the state capital.
He said the suspects were arrested at Tanukuru ward of Gandun Sarki polling unit in Malam Madori Local Government Area of the state after allegedly diverting the cards from the legal owners to others on completion of the three-day distribution exercise.
Gidado, who identified the suspects as Zaharaddeen, Ibrahim and Sa’idu (surnames withheld), said they would soon be prosecuted after investigation of the matter.
The commandant urged the people of the state to keep supporting the command with information on any crime in the state.
