Youths and farmers in the 52 communities in Anambra North Senatorial
zone are to benefit from scholarship, skills acquisition and other
empowerment programmes of Princess Stella Adaeze Oduah Foundation in
Anambra State.
Chairman of the foundation, Rev. Fr. Martin Onukuba, who announced
the package at the weekend, during the mini-launch of the foundation for
the Anglican dioceses of Ogbaru, Niger and Mbamili areas, said the
foundation was conceived by Nigeria’s former minister of aviation,
Princess Stella Oduah not for political purposes but to help the youths
so as to give them a secured future.
The cleric said the foundation had five areas of focus, including
sponsorship of aspirants to priesthood, payment of bursary and tuition
for undergraduates, micro credit scheme for entrepreneurs, farming
support and skills acquisition for the youths. The coordinator of the
foundation for the Anglican dioceses, Venerable Onyekwelu Obazie, noted
that there were many privileged people in Nigeria, who, instead of using
their position to help the youths, turn them into thugs and messengers.
He commended Princess Oduah for using her resources to touch the
lives of the youths in the seven local government areas in the Anambra
North Zone.
Ven. Obazie challenged the youths to remain focused and also get
involved in the electoral process by participating in the ongoing
permanent voter cards distribution and re-validation exercise.
A facilitator, Barr. Mrs. Gloria Odita described the project of the
Foundation as an opportunity the youths have longed for all their lives
charging them to embrace the project without hesitation.
