Lagos state Governor and National Leader of All Progressives Congress
(APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
The former governor was reported to be critically ill and was rushed to the United States for emergency medical treatment.
Peoples Daily could not independently ascertain the veracity of the claim as at the time of filing this report. However, sources say his health condition has deteriorated as he couldn’t recognise his family members anymore due to sudden loss of memory and is clinging to life at an undisclosed hospital in the US.
The APC leader reportedly suffered what sources described as spiritual attack few days after Osun state gubernatorial election.
The doctor taking care of him at his residence in Lagos told family members to fly him out of the country because his situation ‘s critical. He was secretly flown to the US few days later.
Family members and some key APC leaders have been praying non-stop for his restoration since he was secretly flown out of Nigeria.
Party sources express concern over the former Lagos state governor sudden disappearance from the political scene at ‘crucial’ moment like this.
Several sources in the party said Tinubu’s absence sent a wrong signal of his ability to participate in politicking ahead of the election.
“We know his health challenges but we are not inform that is critical ill at the moment, he went abroad to rest,” a source said.
Another source said the party leadership are not aware of Tinubu health status.
