Atiku to head APC campaigns

Indications abound in Adamawa State that the delay in the flag off of the election campaigns of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for the October 11, 2014 election might not be unconnected with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s decision to head the campaign.
At the time of filing this report yesterday, APC stakeholders and supporters had converged on the Yola International Airport for a meeting to be convened by the former vice president, who was in Sokoto where the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, was turbaned.
According to the image maker of the party, Rev.Phineas Padio, Atiku would flag off the campaign in Ganye and thereafter spearhead the campaigns all through.
He told Daily Sun to discountenance the rented crowd of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), with desperation to win while the APC is determined to win with some viable covert strategies employed to win the hearts of the people and not by rigging elections contrary to the belief of the PDP.
“ Must APC have to rig election to win the rerun gubernatorial election in Adamawa State when we have firm control of the state with formidable structures?” Padio asked.
The APC stalwart told Daily Sun that the delay was a strategy of campaign of the APC as researches had been made shortly after the primaries of the PDP that has given the party informed position on how best to prosecute campaigns and not by renting crowd.
A stakeholder that pleaded anonymity said there have been underground campaigns ongoing in various parts of the state as embarked upon by the APC even at the ward level which he described as grassroots politicking..
The stakeholder also said that an arrangement has been perfected by the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar to flag off the campaigns of Senator Bindow Umaru Jibrilla, starting from the southern part of the state where the former Nigerian number Two leader hails from.
According to him, the Political Bulldozer of Adamawa State, as Atiku is fondly called, will spring surprises, debunking the insinuation that the flag off was delayed because of the financial constraints of the party.
