Ekiti violence: PDP rejects transfer of Fayose’s trial outside Ekiti

The Ekiti State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has kicked against the transfer of the qualification case of Ekiti State Governor-elect, Ayo Fayose, outside the state as advised by Governor Kayode Fayemi at the weekend.
The party also knocked Governor Fayemi over the murder of former NURTW chairman, Chief Omolafe Aderiye, by gunmen last Thursday.
The PDP also described Governor Fayemi’s broadcast on Friday morning, on the unrest, as an act of wickedness and heartlessness.
The party said only a wicked leader would address the state without at least, mentioning the name of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Chief Omolafe Aderiye, who was murdered and sympatise with his family.
Governor Fayemi had in the broadcast to the state, referred to the murdered Aderiye as “someone.”
In a statement issued yesterday, by the state Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Pastor Kola Oluwawole, the party wondered how what happened in the state High Court premises on Monday and Thursday could be more important to Governor Fayemi than the murder of an Ekiti son.
The party said: “Fayemi could not even pray for the repose of the soul of the slain Omolafe Aderiye in his so-called state broadcast. He did not even mention his name; he just said someone was killed.
“So, in the wicked mind of Fayemi, Omolafe Aderiye, a prominent son of Ado-Ekiti, who led the NURTW for years, was just someone?
