As the campaigns for governorship election heightens, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwarts, including Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, have canvassed for votes for the party’s candidate, Alhaji Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri in the October 11 election.
The former anti-graft boss, who was on the campaign train of Fintiri in Mubi, the headquarters of Northern Senatorial District, vouched for the credibility of Fintiri to deliver the goods in terms of infrastructural development, stressing that all stakeholders of the party were solidly behind Fintiri, as he has promised to transform the state when elected.
The PDP candidate and the Acting Governor of Adamawa State, Alhaji Fintiri, told his teeming supporters that he decided to transfer the Faculty of Law and Medicine of the state university to the main campus in Mubi, to avoid politicization of tertiary education in the state.
Fintiri who hails from the Northern Senatorial District of the state, described his campaign tour of the district as homecoming.
The Acting Governor who was in Mubi to commence his campaign of Northern Senatorial District of the state, declared that he would accord priority attention to education, which tertiary education is the apex.
He said that Mubi has all the required potentials to accommodate the two faculties.
Before now, the Faculty of Medicine was in Yola, the state capital while that of the Faculty of Law was sited in Mayo Belwa, the country home of former Governor Murtala Nyako, which Fintiri considered not viable but done with political connotations.
Fintiri decried the situation in which the district found itself, with decaying infrastructures ,which he promised not only to restore but boost the economic viability of the district to restore its past glory if elected as the governor of the state in the October governorship election.
He promised to complete all abandoned projects in the senatorial district especially Mubi, the headquarters of the Northern Senatorial District of the state, promising that the past glory of Mubi would be restored in six months on the saddle.
Most of the prominent figures from the senatorial district including the former political adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan, and one of the governorship aspirants that stepped down for Fintiri, vouched to the credibility of the PDP candidate to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.
