MASSOB threatens mayhem in South East over Uwazurike

Movement For the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra
(MASSOB) has warned that the Boko- Haram insurgency in the North East of
Nigeria would be a child’s play compared to the kind of terror they
would unleash on Igbo states if the police attempts to arrest, or
arrests their leader, Chief Ralph Uwazurike.
They group described as frivolous, allegations levelled against Uwazurike by the sacked former members of the movement led by the former information director, Uchenna Madu.
They said this stern reaction has become necessary following the publication Madu made in the Saturday Sun of August 16, 2014, in which he levelled absurd and baseless allegations against Uwazurike, as well as calling for his arrest.
The movement warned the governors of the South Eastern states to warn the leadership of the police in their states to desist from any plan of trying to arrest Uwazurike as this would lead to grave consequences that can be better imagined than experienced.
MASSOB’s Abia Central Director of Information, Mr Ansalem Ogbonna, who spoke to Sunday Sun in company with the regional administrator for Umuahia North, Mr Felix Ezekwem, gave this warning after a meeting of the movement in Umuahia, Abia State capital.
He said that when Madu was incarcerated by security agents, it was Umuahia North MASSOB that cared for his family, and saw his younger sister through the university.
“It was MASSOB that buried his step-mother and his father, and has always been there for him, but today, he is biting the fingers that fed him,” Ogbonna alleged.
He warned that any attempt by the police to get involved in the affairs of MASSOB, trying to arrest Uwazurike just to please Madu will lead to grave consequences of unimaginable height.
“I want to tell the Nigerian Police who are warming up for Uwazurike’s arrest to be very careful. If the Nigerian Police feel that they are capable of demonstrating their intelligence, they should help the Nigerian soldiers to fight Boko- Haram insurgency in Gwoza, Bama, Adamawa and all other Boko-Haram war- torn areas before coming into MASSOB family. Any attempt by the police in trying to arrest Uwazurike, I am assuring you that Boko-Haram insurgents will be termed saints to what will happen in the South East.”
He warned that the meekness of the movement should not be taken for weakness, as they are following issues based on their agreement with the United Nations Organization to go about their agitation for self- determination without violence.
MASSOP’s regional administrator for Umuahia North, Mr Felix Ezekwem advised Ndigbo to trust Uwazurike and the movement, stating that Madu’s insults on Uwazurike should earn him the punishment of being paraded naked round the market square as Igbo culture demands.
The zonal administrator for Abia Central, Madam Comfort Ogbuokiri described as unfortunate Uchenna’s action against Uwazurike, stating that he has bitten the finger that fed him.
Madu could not be reached for his reaction as several calls to his cellphone was not answered. source - http://sunnewsonline.com/new/?p=81650
