Ondo PDP set to receive Mimiko

The Peoples Demo­cratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State has expressed its readi­ness to receive the state Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, back to its fold.
It was gathered that some prominent leaders of the party in the state met with Mimiko at the weekend to perfect arrangements for his formal declaration for the PDP.
Also, it was learnt that the state chapter of the PDP had set up a seven-member com­mittee to plan Mimiko’s dec­laration ceremony which a reliable source hinted would hold any moment from now.
Daily Sun learnt that the leadership of the PDP in the state would soon fix a date for the formal defection af­ter concluding arrangements with President Goodluck Jonathan.
The state chapter of the PDP, it was gathered, had sent representatives to Presi­dent Jonathan to discuss a convenient date for the event.
Also, it was gathered that the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, had met with representatives of the PDP in the state on the proposed ceremony.
A leader of the party in the state, Chief Olusola Oke, confirmed that the party was set to receive Mimiko into its fold any time from now.
Oke said Mimiko had in­formed leaders of the PDP in the state of his plan to de­fect to the PDP, saying: “the governor is welcomed into the party and we expect that he will formally defect at an elaborate ceremony anytime from now.”
