The chairman of the Independent National electoral Commission
(INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega has vowed that he would not resign his
appointment.
He made the declaration in Abuja yesterday while addressing a press
conference on the recent calls by some Nigerians that he should resign
over allegations of bias leveled against him.
The INEC boss also explained why the commission had allocated more
polling units to the geo-political zones in the North than those in the
South.
According to him, the decision was based on the existing number of
registered voters in the country, submitting that those who were asking
him to tender his resignation letter lacked adequate information on the
exercise.
