Abuja stadium excites Danagogo

The Minister of Sports and Chairman, National Sports Commission, Dr. Tammy Danagogo has expressed satisfaction with the state of facilities at the National Stadium, Abuja, saying the stadium could host any sporting event at short notice.
Speaking yesterday after inspecting facilities at the stadium, the minister said: “Having been through the main bowl of the stadium, the training pitch, changing rooms and seeing the effectiveness of the water sprinklers working perfectly in the main bowl of the stadium, I am happy to say that the stadium can host any sporting event at short notice.”
Dr. Danagogo, who also expressed happiness over the constant power supply, excellent state of the changing rooms and the state box at the stadium, stated that efforts were being geared towards the re-grassing of two additional training pitches to bring the stadium to a standard, where a training pitch would be reserved for the national team, the other for visiting teams and the third for the general use respectively.
The Director, Stadium Facilities, Engr. Shehu Ibrahim said the inspection by the minister was to assess the readiness of the stadium to host sporting events and inspect how the commission’s capital budget was being spent.
He reiterated the minister’s assurance that all facilities within the stadium were in perfect condition and in readiness to host any sporting event within a short notice.
