APC chieftain canvasses govt, Rotary partnership

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Adekunle Olanyinka, has called on government at all levels to partner with the Rotary Club for the nation’s growth and development.
Speaking after he was decorated as Paul Harris Fellow, the club’s highest award by Rotary Club, Omole, Olayinka said this was in view of the role of government and the objective of the club as a humanitarian organisation
According to him, instead of doling out scarce resources to insignificant organisations, such funds should go to Rotary in view of its credibility and proven record of service delivery.
He said aside this, such funds had the potentials of having a direct impact on the lives of people across the globe.
Speaking further, Olayinka, who is the special assistant to the chairman of APC in the state, described Rotary as an accountable organisation.
The awardee, who donated $1000 dollars to the club, said the essence of the gesture was to give back to humanity
In his lecture at the event, an associate professor at the Lagos State University, (LASU), Dr. Kehinde James, described poverty, sentiments and ethnicity as some of the factors negatively affecting the nation. James, therefore, urged Nigerians to surrender all the negative attachments for the country’s advancement.
