Ebola tests negative after Gold Coast virus scare

Gold Coast man suffering Ebola symptoms, hospital confirms
First on 7News A suspected Ebola patient has been rushed to hospital on the Gold Coast.
Queensland's Chief Health Officer has confirmed the man rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital on Thursday morning does not have the Ebola virus following two blood tests.
It is understood Michael Walsh, 27, originally from Western Australia, had returned from working in the Congo just two days ago.
He was arrested for trespass in the early hours of Thursday morning, at Chevron Renaissance in Surfers Paradise.
The man was taken by ambulance from the Southport watchhouse to the Gold Coast University Hospital, suffering Ebola-like symptoms.
His blood was tested as a precaution but Dr Jeannette Young confirmed in a statement 'tests taken from a Gold Coast man suspected of having Ebola virus disease have returned a negative result'.
