There is an overflow of joy in the household of Senator Bukola
Saraki. His lovely wife, Toyin, turned 50 on Saturday September 6.
Thanks to her good looks, it is pretty difficult to believe that the
former Kwara State First Lady has hit the golden age.
When her husband was elected governor, many had wondered how the
highly sophisticated lady from the Ojora royal family of Lagos would
cope with the rumbustious nature of politicians.
Those who knew Toyin for her delicate mannerisms also worried about
how she was going to mingle with the everyday people in the state. But
to the surprise of many, she easily adapted to life in Ilorin. With hard
work, her Wellbeing Foundation Africa soon became popular with the
women and children in the state. Even with her becoming the voice of the
rural folk in Kwara, people still viewed the former First Lady as the
aristocrat that she is. More interestingly, her NGO displayed a side of
her personality that’s rarely seen.
However, Toyin Saraki had turned prophetic during her 50th birthday,
as she stated that her husband’s decision to decamp to the All
Progressives Congress (APC) was ordained by God. “I trust my husband. I
believe that my husband is inspired by God and he listens to the wishes
of the people; so, I will always support him as long as he is with the
people,” she said.
