Cattle rustlers sack 10 villages in Zamfara

Hell was let loose in Zamfara State as hoodlums suspected to be cattle rustlers attacked 10 communities in the state, raping a woman to death while scores of women were also wounded.
The attacks, it was gathered were carried out within villages in Gusau Local Government Area of the state.  The affected communities are, Fegin Mahe, Fegin Kanawa, Kundumai,Ingwai and Tsaunauku.
Others are Gangara, Wonaka, Kuka Gundu, Kuliwa and Lahiya. It was also gathered that over 2,000 women and children, who escaped during the attacks were now seeking refuge at various camps located at Damba, Kotorkoshi,Yandoto and Mada towns.
Some of the women who spoke with Daily Sun described the attack as inhuman while some alleged that their husbands had been whisked away by the hoodlums.
One of the women who escaped from Fegin-kanawa while the hoodlums were carrying out the raid, Malana Aisha Ibrahim, said she narrowly escaped and ran to Gusau for safety.
She disclosed that the eight of the hoodlums raped a middle-aged woman who later bled to death.
According to her, over 50 women were raped by the armed hoodlums.
Sources at the camps disclosed that 478 displaced persons were at Damba camp, 600 at Mada camp.
The state Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Ibrahim Birin Magaji said a committee had been set up by the state government to take care of the affected victims.
Meanwhile,  relief materials have been sent to the affected victims at their various camps by the state government.
