One of the candidates contesting for the seat of president reliably told Daily Sunsports at the weekend that apart from the failure of the embattled Glass House boss to openly declare whether he was still interested in re-contesting, his secret endorsement of one of the candidates had become a source of disunity among the stakeholders in his camp.
“I have to admit that there is actually some challenges we are facing. As I speak to you, what is in the minds of many people is whether Maigari would leverage on the correspondences from FIFA to change his mind and re-contest.
“He may have told some people that he will not contest, but his body language did not paint the actual picture of what is in his mind. If you ask me, I won’t vow if he will contest on not. It is obvious that he has the blessings and support of FIFA and might want to leverage on that to enjoy a second term in office.
“Even if he finally agrees not to contest, it has become obvious that he is rooting for one of the candidates contesting for presidency. I expected him to be neutral, but it seems he is favouring one of us,” our source noted.
