ARREST OF ARMED ROBBERS/RECOVERY OF WEAPON (#EDO STATE)
On 11.09.2014 at about 05:30AM, Police received A DISTRESS CALL of armed robbery attack on commuters along Sabongida Ora/Iruekpen Road. Police patrol teams were immediately dispatched to the scene where the hoodlums were met in the act. There was a shootout during which two of the suspects (male) were fatally injured while other gang members fled into the nearby forest with gunshot wounds. One cut-to-size locally-made single barrel gun was recovered from the deceased suspects. All victims were safely rescued; cash sum of money, mobile phones and other items earlier snatched from the victims were all recovered from the scene. Corpses of deceased suspects were removed and deposited at the mortuary while efforts to apprehend other gang members are been intensified. State CID Benin is investigating.
